USPTO Trademark Fees Explained
Two separate fees: our service fee, and the USPTO's government filing fee.
USPTO filing fees are government fees and are separate from our service fee. Trademark applications are generally charged by the USPTO on a per-class basis.
Our service fee
$150 — this covers our preliminary search, application preparation, filing coordination and status monitoring, as described on our registration page.
USPTO government filing fee
$350 per class — paid directly as part of the USPTO filing. This is not our fee; it is charged by the USPTO itself and is separate for each class of goods/services in your application.
Worked examples
| Classes filed | Service fee | USPTO fees | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 class | $150 | $350 | $500 |
| 2 classes | $150 | $700 | $850 |
| 3 classes | $150 | $1,050 | $1,200 |
USPTO fees can change over time. Always verify the current fee schedule on the official USPTO website before budgeting for your application.
Fees for Office Actions and objections
If an Office Action, opposition, refusal or other substantive issue arises after filing, additional professional fees may apply depending on the complexity and circumstances. We don't publish a fixed price for this work because it depends heavily on the specific issue — see our Office Actions & Objections page for details.
